Our Properties
NeueHouse currently operates across three different, but equally iconic properties in New York City and Los Angeles:

• Our Madison Square (MSQ) House is situated in New York’s iconic Flatiron District, was previously home for Tepper Galleries, a well-known Manhattan auction house for international artists and collectors in the 1930s – and neighbors the 69th Regiment Armory where the first International Exhibition of Modern Art was held.
• Our Hollywood House (HWD), which sits on Sunset Boulevard, is one of LA’s most celebrated buildings and occupies the original CBS Studio (the world’s first structure built intentionally for broadcast). Here genre- defining artists from Orson Wells and Lucille Ball to Janis Joplin, the Beach Boys, and Bob Dylan built their legacy.
• Our Bradbury House (BB) sits within the Bradbury building in DTLA. Built in 1893, the Bradbury Building is an architectural masterpiece and one of Los Angeles’ most historic landmarks. It has been heralded as one of the most thrilling spaces in all North America and is renowned for its breathtaking skylit atrium filled with walkways, stairs, balconies, and intricate ironwork.
• Our Venice Beach House (VB) was once the creative home to some of the most influential creative luminaries in art and entertainment including Hal Ashby, Oliver Stone, and David Hockney, NeueHouse Venice Beach is a new work, social, and cultural hub for the Venice creative community.

The Role

The General Manager leads and influences all facets of our Venice Beach House. A successful GM ensures operational excellence by drilling into the smallest of details while focusing on achieving the strategic short and long-term business goals of a multi-million-dollar venue. Including day-to-day staff management and mentorship, our General Manager translates the magic of NeueHouse into future business by consistently elevating and refining member experience, guest experience, and internal culture.

The GM will inherit a dedicated team, be immediately supported by Management Team, and is expected to lead through our core values of generosity, authenticity, curiosity, and kindness with the goal of attracting the best and most diverse talent available as we grow. Collaboratively partnering with a variety of internal and external partners, the GM reports directly into NeueHouse’s executive team.

Requirements

• 10+ years creating and managing luxury hospitality experiences (e.g., F&B/Restaurant/Hotel), multi-unit operations, and/or serving the creative or luxury industries.
• Venice Beach opened in December 2022 and the GM should be comfortable leading a new property, which may require experience in post-construction projects or punch lists, new venue openings, training and development of new teams, bringing a new property to profitability, etc.
• NeueHouse is open to a variety of educational backgrounds and training in support of the GM role.
• Taking full responsibility for the success of the VB House, the GM must demonstrate strength in working alongside a range of backgrounds, skills, and professionals. The GM must be as adept at working with hourly employees as they are with advising our President & CPO.
• As the ultimate ambassador for the NeueHouse brand and specifically for Venice Beach, the GM will actively meet with and discuss member experience on a regular basis, connect members with each other when appropriate, respond to member issues and inquiries and establish a culture of communication and curiosity.
• Proven leadership and professional development experience with teams of 20+ individuals from a variety of departments: Operations, F&B, Facilities, Membership, Events & Programming, Marketing & Sales, IT & A/V, etc.
• Financial acumen to support operating a multi-million-dollar (5M-10M) business with several different revenue streams. GM candidates should consider their abilities to:
  • Responsible for assessing the business on a weekly/daily basis and in providing reports on the economic and operational state of the business that trigger the development of action plans to support operational improvements and focus on optimizing profit, minimizing margins and promote exceptional experience(s) for Member, guest, staff.
  • Read, plan and communicate complex P&L statements
  • Developing and assisting department leaders with strategies to achieve revenue and/or other budget targets
• A reputation for and innate understanding of high-touch customer service – you are the consummate host and no detail in providing for members, guests, or our teams goes unnoticed.

• Experience with full-service food and beverage venues and/or event venues will be beneficial for early integration into the GM role
• Guide, develop, and implement operational excellence decisions that become SOPs by outlining policies, procedures and systems to improve our business, service, retention, and the magic of the NeueHouse experience.
• An experienced understanding of regulated food safety, risk prevention, fire prevention and emergency procedures policies. The GM will partner with Health & Safety leaders and following local, government and regional compliance and abiding by legal standards to create a safe and inviting space for members, guests, staff.
• The GM role does occasionally have physical requirements.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000 per year. NeueHouse is committed to equitable and competitive compensation and benefits packages for our team members and will consider many factors when extending offers of employment. Some of the factors we consider may include: qualifications of individual applicants against the position and business needs, years of relevant experience in role or industry, specific or unique skills, certifications or professional accreditations specific to the role, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the role.
