Job Description
Responsible for preparation and coordination of all cancer case conferences held at UM UCH. Identify and collect data for quality outcome measures and casefind for tumor registry eligible cases. Will include cases for patients with a malignancy diagnosed and/or treated at UM UCH, adhering to American College of Surgeons (ACoS) and UM UCH Cancer Registry standards and procedures. Assisting in coordinating and maintaining follow-up according to ACoS standards.
Qualifications
Education & Training: Requires advanced/specialized knowledge of a particular medical/technical field such as that which would be normally obtained through completion of a 2-year Associate’s degree or equivalent training in Health Information Technology/ Medical Records or Medical Assistant training.
Work Orientation & Experience: Previous experience in Cancer Registry and/or previous experience with medical record organization preferred. Basic knowledge of personal computer and electronic medical record (EMR) experience required. The incumbent may require up to six months of detailed job orientation and training to gain specific capabilities to perform essential job functions.
Skills & Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills to work with a variety of people and organizations; ability to retrieve and process data; respects the confidential nature of all aspects of patient care, ability to prioritize work assignments and complete duties within prescribed time frame; and ability to work independently.
