The Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in compliance with dealer and factory standards. This person will be detail oriented, committed to the highest quality standards, and dedicated to doing the job right the first time.

Additionally, while the technician does not typically interface directly with customers, it is important that they understand that everything that occurs in the dealership does so to increase sales. This being the case, when they see opportunities to suggest additional service or accessories, they should make the service assistant or manager aware of them so they can be communicated to the customer for approval. They must participate in a “Sales Culture” in his department understanding that the most important thing that happens in the dealership is putting cash in the register while putting smiles on the faces of the customers. Every action, attitude, display, product, and service in the dealership is solely for this purpose.

They must foster this attitude in himself and those around him so that over time it is truly a natural atmosphere or “culture” in his department.

Following are specific duties of the Technician:

• Receive repair orders from the Service Assistant out of the corral and take to stall area.
• Perform repairs efficiently and accurately, in compliance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair. Advise the parts department of needed parts. Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
• Advise service advisor immediately of any issues, such as additional work needed, or if work outlined is not necessary, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
• Document work performed accurately and thoroughly.
• Road-test vehicles when required.
• Attend factory-sponsored training classes and be familiar with factory technical bulletins.
• Ensure that customers’ units are kept clean and protected from cosmetic damage.
• Keep shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times.
• Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
• Any other task requested or assigned by management.

Pay is performance based and increases with training and experience. Training will be provided for pay increases.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

• Mechanic: 1 year (Preferred)
