SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Provides technical, logistical, and administrative support to the C&S Assistant Division Engineer for the efficient and cost-effective management of construction, maintenance, and inspection of C&S infrastructure. Work in both the office and in the field in all types of weather conditions to support a 24/7 operation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience and training in position of similar capacity.
• Qualified or possess sufficient experience to be qualified in NORAC, RWP, AMT-2, AMT- 23/27 and applicable FRA and Amtrak C&S Standards, Rules, & Regulations.
• Must be able to interface with all levels of employees and both external and internal customers.
• Must be skilled and experienced with MS Office, creating spreadsheets, presentations, memorandums, and utilizing other applications to perform job functions.
• Demonstrated experience in all facets of C&S inspection, maintenance, and construction including but not limited to railroad signal facilities, circuits, design, practices, and compliance testing as well as working knowledge of other crafts involved.
• Demonstrated knowledge and applied experience in railroad operations and operating rules.
• Possess knowledge of and ability to apply Federal Railroad Regulations including Roadway Worker Protection and those pertaining to AMT 23 & 27.
• Demonstrated experience in electrical or electronics engineering related to C&S railroad infrastructure.

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

The salary/hourly range is $108,750 - $140,940. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation. If an applicant/employee refuses to provide written consent for Amtrak to obtain these records, the individual will not be permitted to perform safety-sensitive functions.
