GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to perform manual unskilled to semi-skilled labor for the general maintenance and repairs of LFUCG facilities, equipment, grounds and city roads.
This position is assigned to the Skilled Trades group on the carpentry crew.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- No experience required
- Position requires a valid driver's license
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs labor-related activities to include custodial maintenance, general landscaping, light construction and minor repairs for parks, streets and roads, facilities and fleet, sewers and/or other LFUCG properties and/or facilities depending on area of assignment
- Supports the installation and repair of windows, doors, floors, drywall, and painting of facilities within the park system
- Performs some athletic court maintenance such as crack filling and net replacement
- Moves furniture and/or assists with equipment delivery, installation, setup and teardown at public functions and events
- Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment
- Picks up and delivers parts for automotive and truck repair
- Assist with trash collection, pick up, and disposal
- Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be accessible for on-call duty and be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned and during emergencies.
- Some positions may be required to perform snow removal duties during weather emergencies.
