Job description

Searching for experienced classroom aide for sweet and bright 3rd grade child. Child is very intelligent with a gifted IQ score but experiencing difficulties within classroom because of anxiety. Child has delayed language processing and visual processing challenges (essentially, material on worksheets and tests needs to be limited - too much writing on a single page creates confusion and anxiety). Position offers flexibility as child doesn’t need support all day long. Great position for a former teacher looking for 3-5 hours!

Job description:

- provide in class support where needed

- do 1:1 work outside of the classroom during periods of high distractibility (specifically, during writing time).

- edit worksheets and tests to limit visual information.

- help child process language and information learned in a quiet setting when needed.

- help child create outlines to assist for writing

- write answers as child dictates

-qualified candidates:

- atleast 3+ years working working in a school setting with children as either a licensed teacher or aide. A licensed teacher applying for position will receive increased compensation based on experience and endorsements.
- applicants with occupational therapy and special education experience regarding visual processing and anxiety preferred.

- must have 2 professional references

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
