Information Security Analyst:

The Information Security Analyst will join a team providing Security Authorization (SA) support to sustain the client's cybersecurity program; provide cybersecurity management for operational performance and compliance for all networks, systems and applications, provide centralized management of Security Assessments (SA), ongoing assessments, new authorizations, propose information security technical and administrative solutions, develop and execute plans for monitoring and assessing networks, systems and applications, support sustainment of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process and cloud application onboarding. The candidate must have experience supporting Information Technology (IT) Projects and supporting IT security activities.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update all report and document templates on an as needed basis or annually at a minimum.
• Conduct Information Systems (IS) security analysis to determine the appropriate security requirements are integrated during the design stage of an application and comply with all laws and regulations.
• Document findings from the authorization process in the form of a briefing to be presented to the Customer, which will include security evaluation findings and residual risks.
• Assist in preparation of written justification to obtain a written waiver of policy for mandated security features.
• Compile data for reporting on various system metrics for FISMA compliance updates.
• Monitor and communicate timelines and due dates for all ATO milestones to the assigned system ISSO to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Ensure that assigned systems/applications meet the minimum Government Agency’s standards before a recommendation is made to the Agency CISO for Authorization; upload all relevant SA artifacts onto the Agency approved repositories once Authorization recommendation is accepted.
• Recommend improvements for the authorization process where practical to lessen processing time and the amount of paperwork and/or resources required, to include benchmarking and other process improvement activities.
• Review domestic and international Interconnection Security Agreements (ISAs) for interconnections between Agency and non-Agency IT systems.
• Support liaison activities between and among home Agency and other Government agencies including law enforcement agencies, the international trade community and private firms as they relate to security compliance issues, security programs, policies, issues and information technology (IT) products

Requirements:

• DHS BI Clearance REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related technical discipline (8 years of additional experience may be substituted for education)
• Three (3) to Ten (10) years of experience performing work related to the labor category functional description
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work on many concurrent, and changing, priorities, as a Journeyman will work independently.
• Action-oriented outlook and ability to manage and meet aggressive timelines and deadlines.
• Must have excellent organizational and time management skills
• Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-171 and NIST SP 800-53
• Experience documenting processes and procedures to comply with required NIST and IT standards
• Experience working in an ITIL environment is a plus
• Experience working in DHS or other Government agency (PREFERRED)
• CISSP, CISA, or CAP certifications (PREFERRED)
