DATCP currently has an opening for a Grants Specialist - Advanced position. This position is located at the Prairie Oaks State Office Building situated on Madison’s southeast side. We are only minutes away from the Beltline Highway, Interstate 90 and Highway 51 for quick access to local restaurants, retail and service locations.
Telecommuting Option: This position may have the ability to telecommute up to 6 days per 2-week pay period! An approved telecommuting agreement is required before an employee may telecommute. Approval of the employee’s telecommuting agreement and work schedule will vary based on the operational needs of the Division. All DATCP employees who telecommute are required to live in Wisconsin.

Position Summary
This position serves as a division expert in grant programs administered by the Division of Agriculture Development. This position serves as a technical resource coordinator on all grant eligibility criteria, project scope analysis, funding determinations, and awarding procedures for processing grant agreements and grant financial records management. This position will conduct research and analyze data pertaining to federally available grants as they could relate to Wisconsin agribusiness. Using independent judgement, this position is responsible for administering grant funding domestically and internationally totaling over $20 million. The grants this position administers are complex in structure, require complex financial reporting requirements, demand audit transparency, are highly visible, and are highly financially and agriculturally impactful to the agribusiness industry of Wisconsin. This position will negotiate and establish condition of the grants contracts with grantees, will conduct reviews and analyses of financial statements to ensure compliance with funding requirements. This position will be the division lead in dealing with grantor agencies and industry stakeholders to ensure all grant processes are completed. This position will perform specific monitoring of grant expenditures, project scope, grant objectives to ensure full utilization and compliance with the grant award.

Salary Information
This Grants Specialist - Advanced position is in pay schedule/range 07-03. Pay for this position will be between $30.00 - $36.00 per hour ($62,400 - $74,880 annually) based on qualifications. This position is not represented by a collective bargaining unit. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.
Job Details
DATCP does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the selected applicant being able to provide documentation of eligibility to work in the United States.
A criminal background check will be performed on the selected applicant prior to an offer of employment.

Possession of a valid driver's license including personal automobile insurance, or the ability to provide one’s own transportation for work purposes, is required.
Travel is required for approximately 10% of this position’s duties.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified candidates will have each of the following:
- Experience with grant administration
- Experience working with budgeting or accounting financial data
- Experience extracting, analyzing, manipulating and/or presenting data (use of pivot tables, advanced formulas, etc.)
In addition, highly qualified candidates will have one or more of the following:
- Experience with state and/or federal grant administration
- Experience working with funding from a variety of sources
