Job Title: Associate Athletic Trainer

Reports to: Athletic Director and Athletic Trainer

Work Schedule: Approximately 35 hours per week (on average) including some nights and weekends based on team schedules

Salary/Benefits: $40,000-$45,000 commensurate with experience, fully benefited

Department: High School Athletics

Work Year: School year position, 8/15-6/15

FLSA Status: Non-exempt, non-union

Job Goal:

The Associate Athletic Trainer (ATC-2) position administers athletic training services in the secondary school AT clinic under the supervision of the team physician, head Athletic Trainer (ATC-1), and Athletic Director. These services include, but are not limited to: screenings, injury prevention programs, athletic performance consults, emergency first response, acute and chronic injury assessment, treatment and case management of injured student-athletes and those undergoing rehabilitation. This position frequently attends practices and competitions for middle school and high school athletics and helps support the ATC-1 in event/practice coverage.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training or related field of study from a CAATE accredited college or university.
• National Athletic Trainers’ Board of Certification (BOC) Certificate.
• Licensed Athletic Trainer and in good standing with MA Board of Allied Health Professionals
• Current CPR/AED Certificate
• Some nights and weekends will be required
• Successful approval DESE mandated CORI and fingerprinting required
• Mobility, strength, visual and auditory acuity adequate for immediate response to patients’ needs and rapid response to emergency situations.
• Proven ability to collaborate, effectively communicate, and work independently

Additional Ideal skills/experience inclusive of but not limited to:

• Experience working with secondary school athletics and pediatric/adolescent student-athletes
• Strength & conditioning experience and/or CSCS certificate
• Experience with FMS/SFMA
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Confidentiality required
• Any other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Athletic Trainer is not responsible for supervising any staff members.
