St. Joseph Hospital, located in Bethpage NY, is a not-for-profit full service, 203-bed, community hospital that plays a paramount role in its communities. The Emergency Department cares for over 34,000 patients a year. The hospital has achieved disease specific certification for its Stroke Program which is designated by NYS as a Gold Plus Center. Other vital services include the St. Francis Imaging Center at St. Joseph Hospital, a state-of-the-art cardiac CT scanner, MRI, Vascular Laboratory, Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine, Center for Sleep Medicine, Center for Swallowing, Speech & Voice, and comprehensive in-patient medical, critical care and surgical services.

General Statement of Duties:

The Surgical Physician Assistant performs multiple tasks providing medical services, to include work on the surgical suite, I.C.C. rounds, patient care, ER consults, and on call. Adheres to St. Joseph Hospital’s/department policies and procedures and JCAHO/regulatory agency requirements. Demonstrates and promotes service excellence at all times.

Eligibility Requirements:

• B.S. Degree in accredited Physician Assistant Program
• 1-2 years experience as an Orthopedic Physician Assistant
• ACLS/BLS/PALS
