Strategic Insight, Ltd. is seeking a Missile Systems Engineer or Senior Missile Systems Engineer (Staff Associate) position in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) V20 Systems Engineering Branch and MDA for Aegis Weapons System (AWS) programs with Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Capability. This billet will provide technical support for both development and in-service programs. Job location is Dahlgren, King George, VA.

Mandatory Requirement: Applicants selected for this position may be subject to a Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret clearance level.

Originally established in 1918 as a naval proving ground for testing gun weapon systems, NSWC Dahlgren Division has evolved to focus on advances in technology in Warfare Systems Development and Integration. The NSWC Dahlgren Division is a leading research, development, testing, and engineering (RDT&E) organization within the Department of the Navy.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Leveraging technical knowledge of background USN program experience to provide insight on open computer program issues, technical briefs, and data analysis results and provide sound technical and programmatic recommendations to baseline senior leadership.
• Participate in planning meetings for live fleet exercises, program deliveries, and milestones to achieve program certification which may include coordinating analysis, developing briefs and conducting presentations.
• Support system requirements development, test scenario development, test execution, program assessment, baseline development, shipboard integration, baseline performance/compliance verification, and baseline computer program authorization/certification.
• Communicate NSWCDD status, risks, and schedules with program office sponsors and also down flowing information to NSWCDD program team members and different organizations.
• Coordinate investigation and response of issues reported by the USN fleet for applicable programs.

Success for working in this position requires:

• Must have a minimum of 15 years (for SSE)/20 years (for Principal Engineer status) US Navy Surface Warfare combat systems/platform/missile engineering experience with carriers, DDGs, CGs, LCS, large deck, smaller amphibious ships or land based test sites.
• This position is well suited for a prior STO or CSO, but experience with the Warfare Centers/IWS in a Systems Engineering role is also necessary for a prior-military qualified individual.
• The successful candidate could also be a retired Senior Chief or Master Chief FC (a combination of active duty/Industry/Civil Service is acceptable).
• Ability to effectively communicate and work with others at all levels.
• Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
• Self-starter, goal-oriented individual who provides timely feedback on progress made on assignments.
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks, handle complex assignments, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Education and Experience:

• BA, supporting systems engineering, software engineering, or significant analyst experience is always a plus.
• Two (2) years experience’ with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is preferred.
