The University of Virginia Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures invites applications for a one-year, non-tenure-track Lecturer position with an anticipated start date of August 23, 2023. The teaching load is 2 courses per semester in Russian language.

Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching. A Master's degree in Slavic or a related field is required, as is native or near-native fluency in both Russian and English. A PhD is strongly preferred. Experience teaching Russian language at a North American institution of higher education is strongly preferred.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
