Summary
The Eye Bank Specialist is an integral position to the Lions Eye Bank. The position works to procure tissue from the local hospitals, morgues, and funeral homes. The tissue is used in transplant surgery and/or research.
Job Duties
- Recover ocular tissues for transplant and/or research.
- Perform post-recovery processing/dissection of recovered tissues.
- Assist with office duties as needed.
- Ability to perform eye recovery procedures and assist in trainings as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree either AA, BS or BA.
- Certifications COA, COT or COMT through JCAHPO
- Experience working as an ophthalmic assistant or ophthalmic technician within an ophthalmology practice.
