A successful Data Owner Lead will be important to the firm's agenda of enabling the business to foster faster innovation through the use of its data and analytics, while ensuring that data structures follow W3C recommendations, improves its quality and are well-protected in compliance with CCB data governance standards. This role is accountable for all data management governance, serving as product owner on technology scrum teams delivering data modernization, accelerating the product instrumentation, analytics discovery and machine learning for Workforce Planning Product. The Data Owner Lead serves as a member of the data team collaborating with Product and Area Product Owners, Technology Leads and a community of Data Owners to ensure that the product publishes and consumes data in a manner consistent with the strategy and safety requirements of the business. Job Responsibilities
- Create plans for the development and delivery of the Product's data to support strategic business objectives, business operations, advanced analytics, and metrics and reporting. Work with key partners to foster an understanding of the data and its use within the business. Provide subject matter expertise with respect to the content and use of data in the product and associated business area.
- Identify the scope of critical data within their product, ensuring that the prioritized data is well-documented as to its meaning and purpose, and classified accordingly with metadata to enable its understanding and control . Develop and foster the Product's data strategy leveraging public cloud capabilities i.e. AWS - Learn and apply W3C data publishing best practices to Product's data
- Work across Area Product Owners to scale the data ingestion and modernization process along with architecture and movement of data to the CCB Data Lake.
- Develop processes and procedures to identify, monitor, and mitigate data risks for data in the product, including risks related to data protection, data retention and destruction, data storage, data use, and data quality
- Manage the execution of tasks to comply with Firmwide policies, standards, and procedures related to the integrity and protection of data in the product
- Develop relationships with product data delivery partners and data consumers, including leaders in the Business, Technology, Analytics, Operations, Risk and Control functions
- Manage the execution of a set of milestones. Understand and mitigate risks, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies in the product development lifecycle with respect to data.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 6+ years of industry experience in a data-engineering related field.
- 3+ years of experience within application development, data engineering, public cloud migration and adoption (e.g. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform) as it relates to data analytics
- Subject matter expertise in business or product data or processes
- Preferred technical knowledge of data management and governance, and information architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to manage delivery timelines, and ensure our product and organization is on track to meet our goals
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to senior business and technology leaders
- Understanding of Agile technological development methodology.
