This is what you will do:

Associate Director, Market Access Contract Analytics and Pricing has comprehensive knowledge of the Market Access Payor, Specialty Pharmacy, Distribution Analytics and Government Pricing. Responsible for the complex analyses of Market Access impact across the Alexion AstraZeneca Rare Disease portfolio and providing informative insights, ensuring sustainable access, compliance with pricing legislation and validating key contract strategies are enforced. This position includes the management of multiple complex projects, requires thorough understanding of the industry, therapeutic areas, contracting strategies to analyze intricate data and provide summarized recommendations to senior leadership to support decision making. This role may be based at AstraZeneca Alexion Rare Disease locations, New Haven, CT; Wilmington, DE; or Boston, MA and reports to the Executive Director, Contracting Strategy, Analytics, Operations and Pricing located in Boston, MA.


You will be responsible for:

  • Building, improving, managing and reporting scalable processes and analytics across payor and channel partners for the Alexion AstraZeneca Rare Disease (RDU) Portfolio
  • Providing oversight and leading complex analyses addressing strategic questions, including SWOT, GTN, Impact models addressing account acquisitions, mergers, industry changes, etc.
  • Delivering informative insights and actionable recommendations for innovative solutions
  • Knowledge expert/leader, significant contributor, and influencer to build, refine, analyze, monitor, innovative access and value-based agreements throughout product lifecycle
  • Assessing and monitoring compliance in the agreements and competitive challenges, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and legal requirements
  • Collaborating with Payor Marketing and Trade Channel Leads providing consultations and thought leadership, identifying and leveraging best practices
  • Developing routine timely reporting providing informative and valuable insights
  • KPI reporting across all products, payors and channel partners for the RDU
  • Collaborating with Market Access Field Teams, Commercial Operations (Global and US), Business Operations & Commercial Effective (BOCE), Government Reporting, Finance, Legal, and IT partner functions to support ongoing performance monitoring and improvements
  • Other duties as assigned

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant area of study
  • 5+ years’ experience in a U.S. biotech/biopharma or pharmaceutical adjudicating rebates and/or market access analytics role
  • Knowledge of the business models, influence/impact, and decision drivers of U.S. commercial and government payers as well as channel customers (i.e., specialty pharmacy and distribution, home infusion, etc.)
  • Strong patient-focused mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex business challenges and data-driven recommendations effectively and concisely to senior leaders
  • Exceptional Business Acumen with an understanding of drivers and value-creation
  • Excels in a fast-paced, results-driven, highly accountable environment, where individuals can make a clear impact
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization and using excellent influencing and negotiating skills
  • Ability to execute individually and by leading cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence in the face of challenging goals
  • Explore innovative approaches in evolving landscape
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 10% overnight travel
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. We would prefer for you to have:

  • MBA, MPH, or other advanced degree
  • Ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex business proposals
  • Knowledge of various rebate and Government Pricing Systems
  • BioPharma/Pharmaceutical or Biotech Product launch experience
