THE LIFE OF AN ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

As the Assistant Director of Workforce Development of our nonprofit program, you are instrumental in ensuring that our organization delivers high-quality services to the community. You implement policies and procedures, oversee site operations, and ensure compliance with regulations to make sure that we operate efficiently and effectively.

Your leadership and guidance are critical in many areas of the program, including logistics, staffing, client flow, and room scheduling. By directing the employment-focused approach for all program components and working closely with employment works leadership specialists, job developers, and administration, you play a vital role in helping clients achieve their employment goals.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

  • 7+ years of related public health, workforce development, social services, vocational rehabilitation, or professional experience, including 4+ years in a management or supervisory role
  • Experience working in correctional institutions, with the formally incarcerated, public assistance recipients, homeless, or those affected by the challenges associated with poverty
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Covid-19 vaccination

A master's degree in social work or a related field is preferred. To be successful in this vocational rehabilitation role, you should have strong leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to thrive in environments with frequent changes. You should also possess excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, as well as exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
