GRS Technology currently has an opening for a
VP & Senior Director, Global Claims, Billing & Service Technology.
This individual is accountable for all leadership and technology aspects associated with building, supporting and evolving our technology supporting the GRS Claims domain. This will be a highly matrixed role, working alongside other functional teams and the business segment leads for GRS North America, Surety and Liberty Specialty Market. Strategic vision, design, development and continuous improvement of systems across multiple environments and business including architecture, application development and maintenance and testing processes.
API-first is a fundamental tenet for GRS Tech and evolving that strategy in this functional space will be critical to success. Thus, re-using components built in other spaces that can be leveraged globally, along with ensuring all appropriate future design considers the global potential, is essential. Directs the planning, development and implementation of IT solutions through proactively partnering with GRS Chief Claims Officers and business segment CIOs. Works directly with the GRS business segments to provide consulting, solutions options, and recommendations around technology, standards, strategies and governance.
About the role:
- Initiates and fosters business partnerships with current and potential vendors, IT executives, and business partners that promote trust and increase efficiency and effectiveness, balances individual customer needs and business priorities assuring alignment with GRS business shared strategy.
- Demonstrates breadth and depth of perspective, utilizing enterprise and industry or market trends, standard executive dashboards, and regular benchmarking exercises.
- Sets department vision and direction in coordination with GRS CIO, GRS Chief Claims Officers and GRS Tech segment leaders, motivates and manages staff to achieve results.
- Unify Tech platforms and segments with aligned business partners to prioritize business objectives with a holistic approach to support integration and achieve defined target state.
- Executive ownership of the Claims Technology Roadmap and integration seeking synergies and business enhancements.
- Influences senior leaders and all levels of business and IT staff on all areas of technology, including policies, standards, strategies, and governance.

- Drives and implements change and continuous improvement.
- Maintains breadth and depth of perspective, utilizing enterprise and industry or market trends, standard executive dashboards, and regular benchmarking exercises.
- Formulates and executes process and organizational improvement direction on program to enhance overall effectiveness.
- Understands business process, issues or problems and applies appropriate IT standards and solutions.
- Sets department vision and direction in coordination with CIO and business partners and motivates and manages staff to achieve results.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in technical or business discipline or related experience; Master's Degree preferred. Generally, more than 15 years related experience with 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Global Commercial Insurance experience is preferred. Extensive experience in high-level systems planning, design, development, maintenance and troubleshooting with a track record of accomplishment in large, complex, and distributed systems.
- Dynamic, seasoned leader with strong technology experience. Program management experience delivering multiple large-scale projects and effective leader of large teams.
- Expertise in designing and improving processes. Ability to attract, coach, and mentor and build a strong functional and technical team.
- Experience with leveraging and managing IT offshore vendors.
- Strategic thinker with deep global commercial insurance business acumen and understanding of how IT will contribute to business strategy.
- Ability to work closely with the business functions and IT teams within Liberty and establish strong relationships - both internally with business units, and externally, with vendors and providers.
- Highly effective analytical, negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills. Change leader who is customer focused and translates vision into actionable deliverables.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills - can do deep dives while staying focused.
- In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies and their application to business opportunities.
- Advanced knowledge of management concepts, practices and techniques. Ability to promote a team environment consisting of several geographically dispersed teams.
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills; including very strong presentation and collaboration skills.
