What You’ll Get to Do:


CACI has an outstanding opportunity for an Enterprise Voice and Infrastructure Engineer in support of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). You will be providing installation and operational support to IT infrastructure components consisting of Cabling, Access Control, Network, Video, Customer Support, Security and Web Service functions. Technicians will also be supporting ongoing short and long term modernization projects for the USDA IT infrastructure.

More About the Role:

  • Plans, evaluates, and coordinates installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication networks.
  • Designs, develops, and tests telecommunications software solutions.
  • Provides customer training of telecommunications features and functionality.
  • Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Reviews hardware inventory for networking phone systems.
  • Provides telecommunications support to the facility and other sites, performing work as requested by management.
  • Works with long distance and local vendors to coordinate installation of services.
  • Examines new services offered by vendors and makes recommendations to management
  • Works directly with switch vendors to facilitate repair, contracted maintenance and system upgrades.
  • Seeks out new systems, procedures and software for customer services that will enhance current capabilities.
  • Knowledge of supporting video over internet protocol solutions.
  • Maintains smooth operation of local area, worldwide and virtual private networks (VPN).
  • Performs other duties and assigned tasks as reasonably requested or required by management.
  • 24 x 7 on call support as required.
  • Assist with low voltage and other related equipment installation, signal cable installations and cable connections and labeling. Other equipment installations include but are not limited to building access control systems, security camera systems, alarm systems, and wireless equipment.
  • Assist with documenting related changes at each site
  • Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Work to be performed from remote location and travel to customer sites as required.


You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of telephony, Private Branch Exchange (PBX) and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technologies.
  • Knowledge of telecom telephony technologies such as analog and digital services.
  • Ability to use telecom tools such as toners, buttsets and punch tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of voice protocols such as loopstart, groundstart, e&m, SIP and PRI circuits


Fill in this section

  • BS degree in an IT or Telecommunications Field (experience can substitute for degree)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in information technologies work and knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas: Networking, cloud, converged networks, voice, video, radio and data.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust 6C Clearance.


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Active Public Trust or Secret security clearance
  • Specialized industry and manufacturer certifications such as Cisco, Mitel, CompTIA certifications.

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $65,300-$134,000. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
