Job Purpose or Objective(s): As a Tribal Patrolman, you will enforce all Tribal, State and Federal laws and rules to provide protection for individuals and property. You will report to Tribal Law Enforcement Management.

Primary Tasks:

• You will conduct patrols of the assigned area(s).

• Investigate and write reports of motor vehicle collisions and criminal offenses.

• Prepare arrest cases and testify in court as a witness when called.

• Locate and take persons into custody on warrants, transport prisoners.

• Escort funeral processes, parades, officials, and oversized vehicles.

• Attend department meetings, training courses, and conferences.

• Collaborate with other Police Departments to provide comprehensive services to the citizens of the Choctaw Nation.

• Observe unsafe conditions on the street such as obstructions, debris, icy bridges, high water, damage to pavement, inadequate or damaged traffic control devices and take appropriate action to correct them.

• Inform supervisor concerning matters of significance in their area(s) of patrol.

• Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Must Complete of the Law Enforcement Academy

• Pass a physical fitness test

• Have a valid driver's license

• Basic computer skills for accurate report writing, composition, or correspondence

• Use law enforcement communication, law enforcement software, and equipment

• Must qualify yearly with department firearms

• Work outside normal hours and exposed to the elements

• No prior experience required
