Job Overview:

The Supply Technician is responsible for the management of material, supplies, equipment, and services required for Center operations and to make recommendations to maintain adequate supply levels.


This temporary position is on the day shift.

  • Pay for position: $29.50 / hour plus an additional $4.41 / hour cashed out fringe in lieu of benefits
  • Retirement Plan – Eligible to participate in company 401(k) – No company match
  • Paid Time off or Vacation – N/A Based on length of contract being under 1 year
  • Sick Time – Accrued sick time at 1 hour per 30 hours worked, capped at 56 hours per year
  • Paid Holidays – 11 paid holidays per year
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
  • Receives, stores, and issues equipment, material, supplies, merchandise, foodstuffs, or tools, and compiles stock records in stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard.
  • Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices.
  • Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications. Stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information, such as style, size, or type of material.
  • Fills orders or issues supplies from stock. Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock. Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders.
  • Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.
  • Assists students in understanding the relevance of, and promotes the development of, positive social skills among students through modeling appropriate behavior, positive intervention, and positively intervening and teaching appropriate employability skills for workplace success.
  • Participates in the BMS and/or the SCC program as necessary to ensure proper workplace conduct, appearance and behavior.
  • Sets a positive example as a role model to students by displaying appropriate etiquette, timeliness, professionalism, and dress.
  • Applies a thorough knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the procurement and management of equipment, property, supplies, and services required.
  • Monitors and ensures that supply purchases are in compliance with the appropriate regulations.
  • Makes recommendations on effective warehouse operations and any subordinate facilities.
  • Determines proper storage methods to prevent misuse, abuse, theft, protection against the elements and vandalism of all supplies, equipment, and property.
  • Conducts periodic inventories, reconciles and prepares inventory adjustments for discrepancies disclosed by physical inventories and transfers between accounts.
  • Reviews account records and investigates receipt and issue records.
  • Prepares adjustments when items are reconciled in accordance with established regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Utilizes automated systems such as PMIS/PROP database for data entry, reports retrieval, error correction, and searching for specific records.
  • Determines cause of error, requests disposition for discrepant material, provides close-out response to customer and updates the system.
  • Establishes and maintains property account records for all accessions, transfers, and disposal of movable capitalized equipment and controlled non-capitalized equipment.
  • Controls and keeps accurate records of security and identification of all property.
  • Accountable for all equipment declared excess to the needs of the Center until disposal is made and the property is removed from records.
  • Manages and controls excess equipment, proper storage, identification and reporting to appropriate officials for cataloging and custody transfers.
  • Maintains individual clothing records for all Center students. Performs other Supply Technician duties as needed.
  • Fork lift certification may be required as part of needed duties.
  • Performs other related duties and assigned.
Job Requirements:

Mandatory:

  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years related work experience.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain forklift operator certification if required.
  • Successfully pass any background check and/drug test required on the contract.
  • Ability to obtain & maintain valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
