Staff Tax Accountant with Bmp, CPA LLC
Full Job Description:
At bmp, CPA, associates work with small to mid-size companies in various industries as well as individuals scattered amongst domestic USA. They develop strong working relationships with clients built on trust, honesty, accuracy, and accountability to better understand their business, goals, and challenges. Associates work on multiple team engagements each year, including any assignment – not just one part. Working in mutually respectful team environment helps our associates perform at their best and integrate their career with their personal life goals.

Examples of the candidate’s responsibilities include:

• Working with high-net-worth families and closely held businesses
• Developing strong working relationships with clients built on understanding their needs and challenges
• Completing accurate and timely tax planning and research
• Preparing federal and state & local tax returns o Previous UltraTax software experience preferred; not required.
• Developing a general understating of reporting requirements of different entity structures and the compliance process with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and time management.
• Increasing involvement in developing cutting edge tax ideas that could significantly lessen clients overall effective tax rates
• Leveraging tax knowledge and understanding of the tax preparation process to bring work to completion for review
• Staying current on tax legislation relevant to clients
• Completion of monthly financial statements, tax planning, and communication of strategic cash management, tax, and retirement pathways.
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university
• Business major required o Accounting major preferred not required
• Travel to assigned client locations may be required.
• 3 years tax experience preferred but not required
• Meeting education requirement for CPA certification in the state where you are applying for employment preferred not required. Must be open to this path in next 24 months.
• Must be able to work long hours during peak business time frames

Salary and Benefit Package

• Salaried $34k – $57K based on experience
• Bonus potential
• Health insurance may be offered
• Retirement plan may be offered
• Up to 5 weeks of PTO
• Start date is based on experience – November 2022 at the earliest and January 2023 at the latest o Interviewing starts August 10, 2022
• Hybrid work environment potential – in office and remote
• Flexible work hours during non-peak business time frames

• Tax experience: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:
