Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Financial Analyst!
About the role:
The Senior Analyst will be responsible for most aspects of the budgeting, forecasting, modeling, reporting and analysis processes for a division/functional area. This will include monthly and project reporting, financial modeling, and expense planning.
What you’ll do in this role
- Drive annual planning and forecasting processes utilizing planning tools; deliver meaningful and detailed plan and forecast reporting.
- Assist with the monthly close process, including accrual preparation, booking journal entries, account reconciliations, allocations, cost analysis, and reporting. Prepare monthly expense analysis and cost allocations for projects and divisions.
- Partner with Symetra leadership to support the execution of strategic objectives, participate in project evaluations and cost-benefit analyses, and administer various financial databases; other analysis, reporting, and project work as needed.

Your experience and skills
- BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or other business degree
- 3-5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or other business roles.
- Experience in the financial services and/or insurance industry is preferred.
- Highly motivated individual, with a strong desire to exceed expectations, who is looking for a challenging and fast paced work environment.
- Strong computer skills, especially in Excel.
- Familiarity with general ledger accounting systems.
- Good decision-making, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be innovative in resolving issues and improving processes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Goal oriented with a track record of driving through to completion.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as need arises.
- Critical attention to detail.
- Ability to manage stressful situations and changing priorities effectively.
