Buy Sod USA, a multi-state agribusiness company with sod farms in the Carolinas, Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia is currently seeking to hire a motivated Full Time Sod Installation Technician.

The Installation Technician works as a member of the installation team and is responsible for the efficient installation of sod under the direction of the Installation Manager. The Installation Technician must be able to operate a variety of lawn equipment.

Position Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment.
• Report safety issues and concerns to management in a timely manner
• Report to designated daily meeting location as directed by manager by the beginning of the shift.
• Must arrive on time consistently, ready to work.
• Review the job assignments for the day making sure to have all necessary tools to complete the assigned jobs.
• Follows instructions to properly lay sod on the prepared soil
• Follows instruction to properly clean the site after installation
• Complete the job in the most time-efficient manner meeting the Buy Sod productivity targets.
• All equipment will be washed, filled with fuel and any necessary maintenance completed/reported before leaving shift
• Have the courage to speak up and stop unsafe acts

Position Requirements

• Previous experience in Sod Installation, Landscaping, or related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.
• Ability to help diagnose equipment issues and determine appropriate maintenance work.
• Must demonstrate ability to be a team player and build positive working relationships with others.
• Ability to discern what issues need to be brought to upper management.
• Ability to work flexible hours to include, but not limited to, early AM/PM, nights and weekends and hours that could fluctuate day-to-day.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions required.
• Ability to sit, climb and balance as well as bend and kneel frequently.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds or more occasionally. Twisting with weight as needed.
• Manual dexterity, coordination and constant movement and use of limbs required.

Position located at: Eagleville, TN area

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.25 per hour
