Social Science Teacher Position

Brewster Academy, an independent co-educational boarding and day school located in Wolfeboro, NH, is seeking a Social Science teacher for the 2023-2024 academic year. The primary responsibility includes teaching trimester-based electives (global issues and/or economics), a year-long AP Macroeconomics, and creating learning environments in which students collaboratively engage in examining a variety of issues and perspectives. In addition to classroom teaching, candidates will be expected to advise a group of 6-8 students, coach an afternoon sport, lead or support other co-curricular activities, and live in a dorm or serve as a dorm affiliate.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

Qualified candidates possess at least a bachelor's degree and expertise in the subject matter (political science, economics, or related fields). Candidates should also possess experience designing and delivering differentiated instruction and creating learning experiences that challenge and support each student, strong interpersonal skills, a keen understanding of the developmental needs of high school students, and enthusiasm for working in a culturally and linguistically diverse boarding school environment.
