Job description

The Maintenance Shop Mechanic is the position responsible for maintenance and repair of the company’s transportation equipment, including all over-the-road vehicles, and all major construction equipment such as welding machines, forklifts, boats, and motors, etc.

A high-school diploma, or equivalent is preferred. Proven technical ability in maintenance of over-the-road vehicles is required. Regardless of prior formal training or experience, the Maintenance Shop Mechanic must demonstrate on the job, the ability to carry out or to quickly learn and competently execute, all essential functions of the position.

The typical hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position works primarily out of BCC’s maintenance shop in South Paris, Maine. On rare occasions, the position may require travel to a jobsite, including the possibility of overnight travel.

Employment is subject to a state and federal criminal background check and a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
