Job Title: Developer/Programmer Analyst 3 - Texas Student Data System (TSDS)

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Developer/Programmer Analyst 3 to join the Texas Student Data System (TSDS) development team at the Texas Education Agency. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing technical analysis, coding, testing, and maintaining software applications that support the modernization and improvement of data collection, management, and reporting in Texas education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical analysis by reviewing user requirements and creating design documents.
  • Develop complex web applications using C#, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET CORE, and ASP.NET Web API.
  • Design and implement enterprise-level databases on Oracle.
  • Test each deliverable using a strong testing methodology for Unit and Development testing.
  • Collaborate with the project team for sprint/release work on tasks such as providing development effort estimates, discussing architecture and design, triaging, and resolving defects or issues in multiple environments, and providing status on work assignments or issues.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation as required, such as design documents, process flows, object or data models, project plans, environment diagrams, test plans, etc.
  • Familiarity with Ed-Fi Data Standards and Technologies is preferred.
  • Previous experience with TEA's Texas Student Data System (TSDS) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Bitbucket and Jira is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of experience in developing complex web applications using C#, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET CORE, and ASP.NET Web API.
  • At least 8 years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise-level databases on Oracle.
  • At least 6 years of experience in testing each deliverable using a strong testing methodology for Unit and Development testing.
  • At least 6 years of experience in XML, JSON, API Testing, JavaScript frameworks like Angular or React.
  • Familiarity with Ed-Fi Data Standards and Technologies is preferred.
  • Previous experience with TEA's Texas Student Data System (TSDS) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Bitbucket and Jira is preferred.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: Up to $64.00 per hour
