Researcher on Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare (0.3 FTE)
The Who Takes Care Project (project Wie Zorgt) has been launched to develop an intelligent healthcare environment to support healthcare professionals by reducing the high workload experienced when providing dementia care in particular. This innovative and interactive environment (the interactive living room) will be tested in two living labs and in a living environment with actual end users. Smart sensor technology and smart artificial intelligence will be used to deliver personalised care. This research project is a collaboration project involving a number of partners, including HAN University of Applied Sciences, public partners and SMEs.
The position
As a researcher in this project, you will work closely with the entire research team. Your activities will involve the following in particular:

- Working with other researchers to design and program the living lab prototypes
- Communicating and liaising on your activities with the other partners: technology supply companies, researchers and care providers
- Time permitting, actively seeking external research funding and applying for research grants for the Digital Life Professorship
- Organising and conducting evaluation research on prototypes and analysing the results
- Acting as a substantive discussion partner on matters including data analysis/pattern recognition, user studies, sensor technology and software architecture
- Supervising student assignments and/or setting new assignments in programmes including the Internet-of-Things, Healthcare Technology, Communication Media Design, User Experience and Business
What you will have to offer
The suitable candidate will have a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline. You will have experience with well-known machine learning libraries (preferably in Python).A PhD and experience with healthcare and ICT/technology projects would be an advantage as well.

Students and researchers work together in challenging projects on the subject of media, fashion and IT. The FDMCI knowledge center is characterised by an enterprising and multidisciplinary approach.
Although research is conducted in the companies and institutions that the professorship is collaborating with wherever possible, there are also various labs in which new technologies can be studied and in which students work on assignments and final projects.
