As a Staff Engineer in the Payment stream, you'll be focused on helping OLX on its exciting journey of fully scaling transactional capabilities across all our Markets, working across multiple tribes to help build our next generation of payment and monetization capabilities. The main challenges for this role are setting a good architecture foundation to unify all exciting payment capabilities, reduce the complexity of existing components and help setting the right direction for the Technical design to allow easy discovery and experimentation.
What you will be doing:
Design and own a scalable architecture for applications within the domain, with long term thinking and a pragmatic approach.
Hands-on development of proof of concepts and evaluation of new technologies
Implement technical strategic decisions in cross functional teams and lead initiatives to improve our development process and business opportunities within their domain
Provide technical guidance to developers in the domain and raise the bar for coding standards, software design and delivery process.
Influence and help set tribe-wide vision, direction, and product improvement goals
Align work across multiple teams to maximise the impact for the company.

Sets medium-term technical direction for the tribe / team in collaboration with their peers and leaders to focus on areas that need attention or improvement
Actively helps Engineers to make design decisions that minimise the cost of future changes and reduces dependencies between teams and services. Trains them in the technical interviewing process and evaluation of candidates.

Represent OLX in local meet-ups national and international conferences by speaking or other arrangements
