Job Description:
A self-directed motivated individual to take on diagnostic and troubleshooting responsibilities. Must be able to devise new ideas. An outside-the-box thinker. Expected to aid certification efforts; UL, FCC, CE, etc. Will participate in many different facets of the product development pipeline, schematic review, troubleshooting and diagnostic work, and prototype assembly and testing. Facilitates and manages test plans for products under test at labs & internally including RMAs & new product validation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • A daily and weekly compilation of various reports, including quality assurance metrics
  • Develop and execute test plans per industry standards
  • Problem isolation and reporting to test engineering
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs
  • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
  • Automate testing where possible
  • Follow test procedures for testing new and old products
  • Evaluates operational systems and recommend design modifications to eliminate causes of malfunctions or changes in system requirements
  • Assist in preparation for 1st production run including BOM, Part/vendor search, troubleshooting
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
  • Perform other assigned tasks, as required, to support meeting business needs

Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
  • Proven work experience in a research and development environment
  • Proven work experience in quality assurance
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools and processes
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written
  • Team-oriented, with experience in working with and supporting engineering
  • Sound judgment, decision-making, problem-solving, organization, and analytical skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Problem-solving: Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and
complexity. Refers to practices and procedures for guidance
  • Discretion: Requires no instruction for routine work and general instructions for new lines of work or special assignments

  • Knowledge of and the ability to use common computer business software programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Associate degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • General knowledge of ISO 9001, quality management planning, document control, quality standards and specifications.
  • 1-3+ years of experience as a Quality Tester/Electronic Technician
