The Product Manager is responsible for the development, profitability and promotion of the company’s products, services and solutions to support our growth strategies. Participates in strategic vendor selection for new products. A strong drive, along with an innovative mindset are key to this role. Must be forward thinking. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Owns the 80/20 product lines including new product introduction, lifecycle management and involved in pricing strategy and management.
• Responsible for the new product development, launch and lifecycle management processes.
• New product development includes items such as:
• Product expansion (e.g. - new profiles such as round, curved or including other features) to drive differentiation.
• Developing features or fastening methods to improve ease of assembly or create tool-less fasteners or fastening methods.
• Identifying new materials or composites to augment or replace existing products.
• Driving for Intellectual Property to set apart 80/20 from other market players
• Provide business case for new products and expansion opportunities.
• Able to develop, categorize and establish key attributes for each product family.
• Must be able to understand trends in the market to help drive product development.
• Responsible for thought leadership and content to aid marketing in developing industry specific marketing collateral.
• Continually rationalize product lines to maximize sales and margin opportunities.
• Manages pricing to attain sales objectives and margin goals; control and communicate price changes.
• Manages product specialist to ensure:
• Day to day product maintenance activities (e.g. – Product Change Notices, change of vendor, etc.) are being processed and kept up to date.
• New part additions and set-ups are completed for launch
• Communicates with key strategic vendors as needed to obtain product data and other materials required to promote products.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Management or Product Marketing
• 5+years of experience with product management and new product development and introduction (NPD/NPI).
• Process driven.
• Demonstrates professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with case study, thought leadership, webinars, presenting at trade shows or customers, whitepapers, and/or blogs is preferred.
• Experience in strategic planning and execution of product plans.
• Industrial automation industry experience preferred.
• Effective at motivating teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
• Active participation and facilitation of group meetings
• Harmonizes with others and enjoy working in a tight knit team environment
• Possess robust leadership skills and abilities, excellent communication skills with all levels of employees, and maintain strong planning, organization, and follow up.
• Product Information Management (PIM) or other product management tool experience preferred.
