The Patient Account Representative Insurance Follow-Up is responsible for insurance premium collections. Positions in this function contact customers to determine reason for payment delinquency, negotiate and advise on collection of overdue bills and take appropriate action to recover overdue payments. Handling of unresolved inquiries/issues, and responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and managing organization policies on collection practices. May work with outside legal counsel and/or outside agencies in more complex collection cases.

This position is full-time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00am - 5:00pm CST.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Receive and review all correspondence daily from the home office
• Follow up on assigned insurance accounts
• Make outgoing insurance calls on SSM Health accounts
• Our ideal candidate is an adept communicator, deadline oriented, and self-motivated, with excellent follow-up and customer service skills

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
• 2+ years of experience with Epic Resolute
• 2+ years of Prelude experience
• Insurance claim filing OR healthcare registration experience
• Basic Proficiency with Windows PC applications and Microsoft Office: Microsoft Word (create, edit, format), and Microsoft Excel (create, edit, format)
• Ability to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST
• Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in a medical billing OR insurance business office
• Knowledge of insurance terminology
• Familiarity with CPT / HCPCS and ICD - 10 codes

Telecommuting Requirements:

• Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
• Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
• Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
