Overview:
The Parts Room Specialist works under the supervision of Fleet Manager.
- The Parts Room Specialist will be expected to supply parts to mechanics who keep the fleet in good repair. In addition to supplying parts the Parts Room Specialist must also order parts that mechanics need to complete their task. Order parts to keep stock room replenished.
- The Parts Room Specialist will fill orders for outside locations.
- Parts Room Specialist will generate purchase orders for items as ordered.
- The Parts Room Specialist will be responsible to receive parts in the computerized maintenance system.
- They will restock the parts room correctly which will allow all members to easily locate parts as needed.
- There may be complete switch of current inventory to different locations.
- There will be some data entry.
- May be asked to assist the shop in other matters such as transporting vehicles for inspections.
- These are not all the duties, since this department is a support role we will be expected to support all departments as needed.

Provides the mechanics with the parts they need. Is responsible for ordering parts, maintaining stock, searching information in catalogs and on computer databases. Is the primary contact for a majority of our vendors. The parts room specialist will keep track of inventory going into the parts room as well as inventory coming out. Will our inventory system and log parts used on the technician work tickets.
Qualifications:
Must have good driving record and provide motor vehicle report. Must have good communication skills and. Must have a good eye for detail and strong organizational skills.
A high school diploma is generally required to work in this field. Familiarity with cars and mechanics is preferred.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is consistently required to sit; use hands, fingers, handle, feel; and talk, hear & see. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to work under high pressure in a fast-paced environment with employees in 3 states in multiple locations. Travel to other company and incident locations may be required. Lifting requirements of a minimum of 25 lbs.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly in verbal contact with others and constantly works face-to-face with and around others. Consistently uses office equipment such as computers, typewriters, copy machine, fax machine, telephone, keyboard, calculator, stapler, etc.
