Job Description

Provide training and instruction to ensure items are produced in a safe manner and in accordance with company quality specifications, meeting KPI (Key Performance Indicators) production usage and labor objectives.

Properly use labor to meet or exceed Company standards.

Oversee the cleanliness of the packaging areas.

Assure compliance of OSHA and USDA regulations.
-
Responsible for assuring that the packaging work force is properly trained in all job functions, requirements and positions.

Set up and execute campaigns to QA and Packaging specifications

Ensure the flow of critical packaging information gets to management or the proper department or personnel.

Oversee the correct usage of packaging materials and labels.

Coordinate with the warehouse to prevent shortages in packaging supplies, and ensure critical shipping demands are met on time.

Monitor and ensure that proper changeover and packaging procedures are being followed so that product quality is not compromised.

Support continuous improvement in packaging to improve safety, cost effectiveness, and product quality.

Assure that all packaging employees practice safety awareness and support all safety programs.

Report usage and packaging numbers.

Facilitate learning and reinforce positive behavior. Monitor packaging personnel relations and refer any unsettled grievances to the supervisor.

Make adjustments to equipment which will optimize equipment performance utilizing Autonomous Manufacturing practices

High School diploma or combination of education and experience.

Experience in a manufacturing environment, especially food production, is helpful.

Basic mathematical skills. (Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.)

Ability to retrieve data from a HMI computer (Human Machine Interface).

Ability to read and interpret formulas, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, bar code forms, batch weights, and ticket numbers.

Ability to read, understand, and implement safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Ability to write reports, correspondence and down time logs, and effectively communicate in English commensurate with the position requirements.

Must be able to pass safe forklift drivers test.

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent must be able to stand for extended time periods, occasionally climb on ladders or other elevated structures.

Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Ability to occasionally perform job duties in dusty conditions, with possible exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

Ability to work safely in close proximity to moving mechanical parts and forklifts.

Able to occasionally work in high, precarious places, and outside weather conditions.
