POSITION SUMMARY
The Journey of Faith Nursery Team is part of the Family Ministry Department at Journey of Faith. This position is part of a team that creates, enhances and provides a safe and loving environment for the children and families of our program. Journey of Faith’s Kid’s Ministry is a place where kids are loved unconditionally, protected uncompromisingly, and taught the truths of the Bible creatively. It is our mission that we help each child discover and experience who God is and who God wants them to become.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Managing and caring for a classroom of children.
● Preparing the room and supplies for activities and events.
● Ensuring the environment is safe and engaging.
● Leading children and families to share the love of Jesus through teachings, worship, creativity, play and daily interactions.
● Enhancing the team culture and dynamics by supporting and encouraging others and jumping in where needed.
● Building relationships with the families attending our programs.
● Meeting with and working alongside the Family Ministry team regarding special events and ministry activities.
● Typical Hours are 8:30am-12:30pm Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays. 8am-12:30pm Sundays. 5:45pm-8:15pm Wednesday and Thursday nights.
● Weekdays positions available at the Manhattan Beach campus. Weeknight and Sunday positions available at both Torrance and Manhattan Beach campuses.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)
● Be a committed Jesus follower with a lifestyle and reputation of Christian faithfulness
● Be in agreement with the Mission, Vision, and Core Beliefs of Journey of Faith
● Demonstrate Christ-centered living (1 Peter 1:15-16, 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9)
● Honesty, confidence, teachability, and humility (Philippians 2:5-7), and patience and commitment in working with others (James 1:4)
