Develops and manages comprehensive internal export and import controls to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies in the conduct of international marketing, sales, supply chain and other business activities. Establishes business processes for submitting to and obtaining from the US government all necessary export and import licenses, permits, certifications, and technology release determinations. Establishes and maintains relations with appropriate government regulatory agencies. Establishes operational processes for assuring trade compliance through gate reviews of technical data, foreign travel, foreign visits and export and import shipments. Maintains applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements. Supports law department in investigating and resolving compliance problems, questions, or complaints. Establishes and maintains training and audit/assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls. Generates performance metrics for export and import processes.

Specifically, the successful candidate will lead export/import licensing and compliance for the global trade compliance R&D business area. The position requires the ability to effectively manage a high-profile, fast paced projects with coordination across multiple functions, Prime contractor and suppliers. Responsible for licensing strategy and development and management of complex export authorizations and compliance. The GTC manager for the Research & Development (R&D) business area, which includes cutting edge development projects and emerging technologies, will also be responsible for three strategic business units, including the Aerospace Structures business unit (ASBU) in Clearfield, UT, with one direct report who is located at that facility.

The position can be remote/hybrid, with a preferred location of Melbourne, FL. Or Redondo Beach, CA.

Basic qualifications:

  • 8 years with a Bachelors or 6 with a Masters Degree with trade compliance experience.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Empowered Official or the capability to become an EO
  • Must have leadership experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management
  • Familiarity with IT systems (OCR/EASE, SAP/GTS,
  • Proficient in assessment and application of export and import regulations and commodity jurisdiction and classification determinations

This position is located in Melbourne, FL or Redondo Beach, CA. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered.



Salary Range: $102,500 USD - $178,000 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
