The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders has more than 50 cancer specialists and 250 healthcare professionals representing many different areas of medical and administrative services across 16 locations throughout North Texas. We can offer you a competitive salary and a complete benefits package. This position will serve as a floater between 3 locations - Plano, Southlake and Las Colinas. Responsibilities for the lab technician include: receiving, labeling & analyzing specimens according to standard operating procedures. Make observations and interpret findings. Record all data and results in specified format with accuracy and responsibility. Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies. Ensure all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment.

Required knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• ASCP Phlebotomist certified, preferred
• Proven experience as lab technician or relevant position.
• MLT Certification
• Knowledge of Piccolo & Sysmex machines
• Knowledge of ONCO EMR & ARIA
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of performance management with strict adherence to SOP’s.
• Demonstrate technical skills in management of data acquisition and ability to troubleshoot test systems with support expertise from off-site resources.
• Must have adequate computer skills, including word processing and keyboarding and the ability to efficiently utilize necessary computerized systems.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment in assurance of meeting turnaround time targets and management.
• Must have professional appearance, be able to handle multiple tasks, be a self-starter and a team player.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, peers, physicians and the general public.
