Our team supports all Guidehouse’s segments, including financial services, energy providers, healthcare, life sciences and government.
Because of rapid growth of the team and current market developments, we are looking to expand the team with a number of positions, including Director, MC, C, SC- The focus will be on sustainability work with public sector clients, financial institutions and large corporates
 
You will be part of our EME consulting team responsible for managing and growing our EME team and our offerings with European-based global companies in multiple industrial, infrastructure, and energy intensive sectors. You will build long-term relationship with clients in these sectors as they profitably pivot their business towards decarbonised and sustainable business practices.
Your work will focus on diverse topics and assignments related to corporate sustainability journeys. Specially, you will focus on bringing clients our newest offerings aimed at deep decarbonization across Scope 1, 2, and 3. Your role with clients will be to advance complex technical and decarbonisation offerings in engineering, electricity and energy supply options, integration of new energy technologies (including renewables, storage, hydrogen, e-mobility), innovative stakeholder engagement programs, digital platforms, new financing structures and performance-based fee structure. Client engagement will be at senior and executive level.
 This specific position is for someone with circa 7 years of experience to work as an integrated member of our team focused on product and supply chain sustainability for global corporations, especially in the food and beverage and apparel sectors. Clients will be from a wide range of sectors but will definitely include companies from the food and beverage, apparel (fashion) and consumer goods sectors. These are typically companies with vast and complex value chains, sourcing raw materials across the global often including agricultural commodities.In this position you will both manage projects and bring clients specific subject matter expertise in product life cycle analysis (emphasis on climate change), agricultural commodities, nature-based solutions, and supply chain dynamics including supplier engagement. You will help our clients drive sustainability throughout their product supply chains while continuously driving better insights into performance by obtaining and improving data insights. Focus will be on GHG emissions, but inevitably also other environmental and social impacts will surface in sustainability discussions like water scarcity, land-use change, soil health, social justice, etc.
 Our team members manage their own tasks and schedules while carrying out high quality client work. Everyone on our team must demonstrate considerable business acumen and an acute focus on maximizing client value and building relationships over time.
 In this position, you will: 
- Manage and deliver corporate client projects focused on developing and implementing climate and sustainability strategies. Typical project work includes; stakeholder engagement, gathering and analyzing data related to supply chains, strategy development, writing reports, preparing presentations and workshops and presenting your findings to clients.
 - Contribute to complex projects and manage dedicated project teams
 - Work on diverse assignments which are connected to corporate sustainability and the energy transition in different ways. Some examples:
 
- Gaining deeper insight in supplier maturity and performance of a global fashion company by collecting data from suppliers and improve visibility on carbon emissions and performance.
 - Help a global chocolate manufacturer to engage with their key agricultural suppliers (e.g. palm oil and dairy) to support them on making specific improvements in their operations to reduce GHG emissions.
 - Developing an LCA or carbon footprint for a specific product including for example a biofuel, agricultural commodity or steel product.
 - Setting science-based net-zero GHG reduction targets for a global restaurant brand and creating strategies and initiatives to reach net-zero emissions in 2040.
 - Investigating and recommending the most credible strategy, technologies and available projects (offsets) to neutralize any emissions that cannot be abated to achieve a state of net-zero for all our corporate clients.
 
- Relevant Experience 
   
- Circa 7 years relevant experience sustainability projects for corporates, preferably with an emphasis on companies with agricultural value chains.
 - Demonstrated work on product life cycle analysis (LCA) or product carbon footprints. Experience with working with LCA software (e.g. SimaPro) is a plus.
 - Familiarity working with GHG and climate protocols (e.g., SBTi, CDP)
 - Specific sector exposure, including an understanding of Scope 3 emissions for: 
     
- Food and beverage (F&B)
 - Apparel / fashion
 - Retail stores
 
 - Understanding of nature-based removals (e.g. reforestation, biochar), other carbon removal technologies and understanding of agricultural GHG impacts and cycles is a plus
 
 - Relevant Education and Training
 
- Master’s in engineering, energy science, economics, physics, mathematics business, or sustainable innovation (preferred)
 - Skilled with PowerPoint and Excel

 - Must be able to work fluently in English (written and spoken).
 - Fluency in other languages such as German, Dutch, French or Spanish is a bonus.
