Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Creates an environment in which people feel valued, respected, and energized to explore new methods of doing business, generating revenue, and taking calculated risks. Develops employees based on linkage to business requirements and ensures employees are competent to manage change.
  • Manages hiring, staff-development, evaluation, counseling and termination processes of staff. Ensures employees are properly trained and have the necessary equipment and supplies to perform the requirements of their job.
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of core business structures, systems, practices, trends, and technologies within our current industry and of those in which we choose to compete in the future.
  • Actively works to reduce operating expenses by improving processes, products, services, customer service and reduction in cycle time.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with accreditation and regulatory guidelines.
  • Coordinates quality control, quality assurance, and performance improvement activities.
  • Assists senior laboratory leadership with technical aspects of goals, objectives, tactics, and long-range planning of the laboratory.
  • Provides customer-focused service to all customers both internal and external.
  • Communicates consistently, clearly and concisely with each level of the organization.
  • Assists senior laboratory leadership with the preparation of the laboratory budget in accordance with institutional guidelines. Recommends the purchase of equipment and supplies within budget guidelines.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:
Education - Bachelors degree in Science or combination of education and relevant experience.

Preferred:
Experience - 3+ years of Healthcare Experience; 1+ years of Laboratory Experience; 1+ years of Management Experience
Education - Masters degree in Healthcare Administration
Certification - Medical Technologist (MT) Certification - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)

Physical Requirements:
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
