Morningside Group is a premier, multifamily housing developer, owner, and operator of luxury apartment communities with offices in Chicago, Ann Arbor, San Antonio and Austin. We seek an enthusiastic Make Ready Maintenance Technician to perform make ready and maintenance work at Nalle Woods, a best in class multifamily asset located in Austin’s premiere Westlake area.

Located just northeast of Alamo Heights, Sunset Ridge is a 324-unit, luxury community that is currently undergoing renovations. This class-A property offers an opportunity to join a growing company that is in the process of establishing a San Antonio portfolio of properties.

We seek an individual with general multifamily building maintenance experience. The position requires strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate works well with minimal supervision, is a team player, takes initiative, and is willing to work flexible hours as necessary.

The responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician include, but are not limited to:

• Perform work necessary to restore vacant apartments to move in ready condition when tenants vacate including but not limited to cleaning, painting, rekeying locks, and repairs as necessary
• Ensure common areas and grounds are clean and well maintained daily
• Perform janitorial work as directed
• Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and make light duty repairs to HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, electrical systems, appliances, pool equipment and other property systems
• Demonstrate general skills in basic carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and craftsmanship
• Respond to resident service request orders and ensure timely completion
• Serve as on-call emergency contact for afterhours building emergencies in rotation with other staff members
• Demonstrate organizational skills
• Provide superior customer service to all residents and prospects
• Comply with the Fair Housing Act, OSHA guidelines, and all other laws as they pertain to the apartment industry
• Other duties as required by your supervisor

Requirements:

• 1 plus years of prior multifamily maintenance or similar handyperson experience
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends for emergencies. Typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
• Must live nearby to ensure timely emergency call response

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
