We are searching for an upbeat, energetic Kennel attendant to join our veterinary team. Our 3 doctor animal hospital is located in Oak Harbor, on beautiful Whidbey Island. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality care for our patients and clients with gentleness and compassion. The Kennel attendant plays a vital role in this mission.

Applicants must be able to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, be detail oriented and possess an excellent work ethic. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a friendly and professional manner toward clients and co-workers, and be the ultimate team player. Experience in customer service and medical/veterinary field, a HUGE plus!

Some responsibilities and qulaifications include:

• Janitorial duties such as taking out trash, sweeping, mopping, sterilizing exam rooms, restocking supplies, overall kennel cleaning maintenance.
• Cleaning outside yard and other tasks.
• Assist Doctors, Vet Tech and reception as needed.
• Restocking hospital as needed throughout the day.
• Ensure that patients are being looked after in kennels.
• Should enjoy working with dogs and cats.
• Able to read, write, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Able to work well with others.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to lift and carry 40 lbs bags and boxes.
• Able to bend and squat regularly.
• Able to handle large animals (up to 100 lbs. dog) Willing to learn how and when to use animal restraint.

Must be friendly, punctual, reliable, and responsible
