IT Field Technician-White City/Medford/Grants Pass (Req. 3802)
Job description
OBRC is the industry steward of Oregon’s nationally recognized beverage container deposit program. We help keep Oregon beautiful by providing outstanding services to our partner distributors and retailers, and to the public for the recovery, reuse, and recycling of beverage containers.
Summary
The IT Field Technician will perform a variety of technical functions in the installation, operation, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of computers, point of sale stations, barcode scanners, thermal printers, interactive kiosks and other computer peripherals. The IT Field Technician will work both in an office environment, and in the field at one of our many retail centers.
Work Schedule
Sunday through Thursday from 10 am to 6:30 pm
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with internal and external customers to install and support desktop or laptop workstations, software, printers and peripherals
- Install and support micro controllers, PLC’s, point of sale devices and miscellaneous software and hardware in both an office and field service environment
- Assist in the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of computer networks and network hardware
- Professionally answer phone and email questions from internal and external customers regarding company programs and customer accounts
- Travel to various company locations throughout Oregon, including overnight stays (10% travel)
- Other job duties as assigned
Minimum of two (2) years of computer related schooling is required- Minimum of 2 years of experience in computer support and networking is required
Experience with any of the following is preferred: thermal printers, handheld and fixed barcode scanners, interactive kiosks and programmable logic controllers.- Working knowledge of Microsoft products including: Windows Operating Systems, The Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP Network stack and related equipment, such as switches and routers
- Ability to interpret and resolve problems with computer hardware, software, printers, micro controllers, PLC’s and VoIP phone systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate professionally at all levels with internal and external business partners
- Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple responsibilities at once, and handle a fast-paced environment
- Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
