The Instructional Technology and Development Team is responsible for training instructors, staff and students on supported Educational Technology, consulting with instructors on course design and technology integration, and reviewing courses for quality. Reporting to the Instructional Technology and Development Manager, the Instructional Designer will primarily perform the following duties:

• Develop and maintain training materials for, classes, workshops and webinars
• Consult with faculty about the design, development and implementation of their courses
• Provide formative feedback to instructors on their developing courses and review established courses for quality using a QM rubric
• Work across teams to implement new technology and maintain existing systems
• Review and research proposed additions to our supported technology portfolio and make recommendations for implementation
• Update course templates to meet instructor needs

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related information technology field, with coursework in an information technology specialization related to the area of employment; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

• Master's degree in Educational Technology, Education, Digital Media or Instructional Design;
• Experience with D2L Brightspace LMS
