Our Company:

Dental365 is a growing Dental Service Organization in the tri-state area, and beyond. We are looking to bring someone into this crucial HR Specialist role to help with acquisitions and onboarding across our rapidly expanding territory. This position is based in our Melville, NY headquarters and will require travel to practices for onsite meetings and onboarding initiatives. You will work closely with our HR team in implementing a smooth transition for acquisitions and delivering a warm welcome and ongoing support to those joining the Dental365 family.

Our Position:

The HR Specialist will assist with human resource functions related to acquisitions including but not limited to meeting with acquisition staff and doctors, onboarding of acquisition staff and doctors, general administration of benefits & HR support for acquisition offices prior to and during integration through first 60 days. When not focused on acquisitions, the Specialist will provide additional Generalist level support to the HR team and staff members.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the department.
  • May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Business Development and Operations team on acquisition integrations.
  • Participate in information and on-site meetings with acquisition staff.
  • Processes onboarding for all acquisition new hires and doctors within ADP
  • Coordinate and track training including HIPAA, OSHA and sexual harassment training for all acquisition locations
  • Completes background checks including but not limited to OIG, SAM, State Exclusion, etc. checks.
  • Manage benefits administration for all acquisition staff and doctors including processing of benefit elections, 401(k) enrollment, PTO and other ancillary programs.
  • Administration and management of leaves of absence, (FMLA, PFL, NYS Disability, etc.) for acquisition offices.
  • Manage employee relations issues and provide coaching for acquisition staff, in conjunction with Regional Manager and Operations integration team members.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Secondary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides back-up support to HR, Director, Generalist, HR Administrator and Compensation Manager on general HR processes including tracking of documents and licensure compliance, training and continuing education for staff and providers.
  • Provides back-up support for processing of onboarding for new hires.
  • Provides back-up support on administration and management of leaves of absence (FMLA, PFL, NYS Disability, etc).
  • Processes benefit enrollments for eligible non-acquisition employees as needed.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Coordinate on special projects with HR Director and other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to travel throughout the Tri-State area and beyond (typically day trips or overnight stay).

  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations on Federal, State and local level.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail, Google Docs or related software.
  • Proficient with ADP
  • Experience working with dental or medical practices highly preferred.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of Five to Seven years of human resource management experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years acquisition experience in a HR role.
  • SHRM-CP a plus.
