Position Objective:
The person in this position, as with all positions in the company, must be committed to providing the highest quality customer service, superior written and verbal communication that is both professional and effective, and contributing to a working environment that promotes positive employee morale and personal job satisfaction.
Duties:
- History: Responsible for knowledge of company history, future, goals, each department’s functions and how they relate to each other. Develop detailed understanding of each position and its responsibilities.
- Human Resources Management: Under the direction of the CEO and in collaboration with management team, plans, organizes and administers company Human Resources policies, procedures and initiatives.
- Benefits Administration: Performs annual evaluation of health benefits for cost effectiveness and employee satisfaction, new enrollment and open enrollment presentations, change reporting, claims resolution, invoice reconciliation and approval, COBRA implementation, and liaison with insurance carriers. Administers 401(k) plan, periodic compliance testing, Health Savings Account.
- Compensation: Regularly researches, recommends, and develops competitive compensation and departmental budgets. Oversees administration of payroll processing, including timesheet audit and application of time entry guidelines, data entry, PTO tracking, check distribution, error resolution, garnishments and loans.
- Performance: Regularly researches, recommends, develops and implements job descriptions, training and coaching programs, and performance appraisals. Manages, as necessary, appropriate employee and supervisory discipline, counseling and development, employee grievances, terminations and exit interviews in coordination with CEO and management team.
- Recruiting: Manages ongoing recruitment effort for all open positions by collaborating with management to develop and implement long and short term strategies to attract and source candidates, coordinating internal and external advertising, establishing a structured testing and interviewing protocol, tracking applicants, counseling managers on candidate selection, implementing candidate screening protocols, and coordinating orientation and training process.
- Employment Law: Ensures compliance with employment, employee classification, diversity, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations and requirements. Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources and talent management.
- Risk Management: Oversees and reviews L & I claims, short and long-term disability claims, OSHA log maintenance.
- Organization: Maintains confidential historical human resource records, reports and logs, company organization charts and rosters according to company policy. Adhere to internal controls to ensure confidentiality of employee records.
- Culture: Develop, recommend and lead in creating and maintaining office culture that fosters teamwork, intellectual curiosity, interest in advancement for self and company.
Qualifications:
- Proven record of leadership and team building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Solid team player with excellent customer service skills
- Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations
- Minimum 2 years in progressively responsible human resource roles
- PHR or SPHR preferred
- Ability to work in fast paced environment that can be deadline driven.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 or related software
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
Must be a Washington State resident.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
