HR Coordinator
Pay Rate: $31.25/hr
Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday
Location: Chicago, IL 60615
Responsibilities:
HR Coordinators are involved in a number of areas of human resources, including:
- Recruitment/New Hire Process: Participating in recruitment efforts.
- Posting job ads and organizing resumes and job applications.
- Scheduling job interviews and assisting in interview process.
- Collecting employment and tax information.
- Ensuring background and reference checks are completed.
- Preparing new employee files.
- Overseeing the completion of compensation and benefit documentation.
- Orienting new employees to the organization (setting up a designated log-in, workstation, email address, etc.)
- Conducting benefit enrollment process.
- Administering new employment assessments.
- Serving as a point person for all new employee questions.
- Payroll and Benefits Administration.
- Processing payroll, which includes ensuring vacation and sick time are tracked in the system.
- Answering payroll questions.
- Facilitating resolutions to any payroll errors.
- Participating in benefits tasks, such as claim resolutions, reconciling benefits statements, and approving invoices for payment.
Record Maintenance:
- Maintaining current HR files and databases.
- Updating and maintaining employee benefits, employment status, and similar records.
- Maintaining records related to grievances, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Performing file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained.
- Performing payroll/benefit-related reconciliations.
- Performing payroll and benefits audits and recommending any correction action.
- Completing termination paperwork and assisting with exist interviews.
- Facilitating with appointment scheduling for medical/drug screenings, psychological assessments with third party vendor, inviting applicants to the written exam and power testing as needed.
- In addition, the applicant will maintain and update detailed spreadsheets/dashboard for all applicants in the process.
- The applicant must have exceptional communication with applicants and the ability to forward queries to the appropriate resource.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Preferred Qualifications Education
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Certification programs preferred Experience
- Two years experience providing services Preferred Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to demonstrate understanding in groups of people and one-on-one required
- Working Conditions
- Some evening/weekend work required
Just as a reminder if a candidate does NOT have a Bachelor's degree, they will NOT be considered for this role. Also, they do not have to live in Chicago, but must be willing to commute. This is 100% ONSITE.
