Job Title: Health Information Representative

We invite you to apply to our Part time no benefits Health information representative located in our Women center in Victorville, CA.

JOB SUMMARY The Health Information Representative is responsible for efficient and timely distribution of medical records as well as retrieval and accurate filing. The person in this position also responds to urgent requests and subpoena requests from attorneys and copy services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Files, retrieves, and distributes medical records and films in a timely manner.
  • Catalogs and purges records on a regular basis consistent with Company policy.
  • Responds to urgent requests and subpoena requests from attorneys and attorney services.
  • Organizes and prioritizes medical record requests after verifying proper release and identification.
  • Sorts through all exam paperwork for the day, determining what exams require CD and film delivery.
  • Scans aforementioned paperwork into system.
  • Mails requested CDs and Films with exam data.
  • Prepares any requested films from doctors' offices, patients, or other radiology institutions for follow-up imaging.
  • Provides any needed analog films from our library to radiologists for comparison
  • Adheres to all medical records and service protocols as required by supervisor and state and federal regulations.
  • Assists team lead and/or site supervisor as needed in meeting department standards and objectives.
  • Attends regular meetings and trainings as requested.
  • May be required to drive to nearby centers to pick-up and/or deliver medical records and films, if needed.
  • Completes other projects and tasks as assigned.
  • Requests patient's prior imaging studies from outside radiological facilities.
  • Promotes public relations through excellent service to patients, referring physicians, vendors and other clients on the phone and in person.
Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must have one of the following: a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possesses and utilizes excellent customer service skills, strong public relations skills, and exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized, possess clerical skills, and have the ability to interact effectively with doctors, referring doctors and staff, patients, vendors, peers, and management.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record, if duties require driving for the Company

Pay Range:$16.50-$18.00/ an hour
