This position is associated with the recent launch of SK hynix’s ‘Inside America’ strategy that aims to enhance the firm’s competitiveness and cultivate new partnerships with global ICT companies and ecosystem players. One of the new business initiatives founded on this strategy is focused on emerging advanced packaging applications. Advanced packaging technology is propelling energy efficiency and versatility to a higher level as a second engine while technological scaling slows (“More-than-Moore”). As we enter a memory-centric era with domain-specific processing, big data analytics, and AI/ML application proliferate, memory products have become a more crucial ‘chiplet’ to advanced system-in package (“SIP”). SK hynix plans to invest to secure the presence in the ever-growing advanced packaging market and to contribute building its associated ecosystem in the US.
The Head of Business Pathfinding will directly report to the General Manager of Memory Forest X&D and lead the formation of the team.
- Explore business opportunities in new markets and emerging applications associated with Advanced Packaging Technologies
- Design and create collaborative partnerships with various stakeholders and outside partners to leverage new growth opportunities
- Form strategic relationships with ecosystem players – incumbent or emerging – and seek inorganic growth opportunities
- Develop and execute an end-to-end business plan leading to successful commercialization
- Establish a new team with members from various technical and business domains and multi-cultures
- Lead cross-functional activities to fulfill advanced packaging-related initiatives inside the company
- Bachelor or Master’s degree or equivalent in business or engineering major
- 15+ years of business development experience in semiconductor or other relevant industries across the customer value chain (direct experience in advanced packaging is a plus)
- Strong track record of leading collaborations among multiple parties inside or outside company
- Decent knowledge and practice in inorganic growth (e.g. M&A, strategic partnerships)
- Passionate, purpose-driven and dedicated to the long-term goals of the company
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
