Job Title: GIS Mapper/Technician
10CFR810 Compliance: Does not require 10CFR810 compliance
Must understand GIS relationships and can update the GIS model
*Responsible for updating GIS model for electrical distribution side of the business
*Will handle edits, projects and recording changes that are happening in the field
*Education: College degree or in the process of completing a degree. OR, at least (5) years working in utility that utilizes GIS.
*Hybrid schedule after 6-10 weeks of training IF PSEG is confident that the candidate can work remote on a rotational basis.
*Hours 7am-3:30pm, Mon-Fri (no flexibility- must adhere to these hours). Contractors must start at 7am every day and will be released if he/she is not on time. Therefore, please make sure candidates are aware of their commute time and can commit to the schedule before submitting them to the req
Responsibilities:
* Compares field maps, prints, sketches, etc. against GIS maps and transcribe differences to a database.
* Run reports, track changes, and updates for the mapping support team.
* Perform similar or less skilled work as required.
Requirements:
* The ability to maintain files and logs, knowledge of basic grammar, spelling, composition, and business writing.
* Working knowledge of a GIS application, such as, ESRI, Smallworld, etc. is required.
* Knowledge of Electric Utility Business is preferred.
Experience Levels:
* Intermediate: Typically has up to approximately 4 years of experience performing this specific job function and requires some managerial oversight/direction.
* Advanced: Full knowledge of related concepts. Typically has at least 4 years of experience performing this specific job function and requires minimal managerial oversight/direction.
* Expert: Full knowledge of the function. Demonstrated ability to apply concepts to the functional area and see big picture impact of actions. Typically has approximately 7+ years of experience performing this specific job function and requires very limited managerial oversight/direction.
