Position SummaryThe Springbrook Foundation has ambitious fundraising goals that will result in a significant increase in major gift activity over the next several years. The Gift Officer plays an integral role in growing philanthropy through solicitation of individuals for gifts of $5,000+ to support Springbrook’s mission. The ideal candidate will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, is goal oriented and comfortable working independently and part of a team.
Springbrook’s development team maintains a hybrid schedule, working both in the office and in a remote setting. Therefore, the candidate must have the at-home infrastructure to function in a remote environment but also have the ability to report regularly to the office.
To protect the safety of the individuals we support and staff, Springbrook requires new employees to be current on all recommended vaccinations, including but not limited to: COVID-19.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects to support the fundraising efforts of The Springbrook Foundation in accordance with Springbrook’s Master Plan.
- Identify and build long-term relationships with current and potential major gift donors.
- Design, development and execution of relational solicitation strategies that are appropriately tailored to a prospect/donor’s propensity and capacity.
- Effective major gift stewardship of individuals and leadership event business. sponsors that creatively expresses gratitude and lay the groundwork for future gifts.
- Major donor pipeline reporting.
- Thrive in a flexible work environment with hybrid schedule and willingness to travel.
- Travel regionally, state and nation wide as needed to meet with donors and prospective donors.
- All other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar work environment preferred with knowledge of the nonprofit sector.
- Proven track record of successful relationship building.
- Independent, forward-looking thinker, who actively seeks creative and innovative donor strategies and messaging.
- Goal oriented and detail driven.
- High level of professionalism and ability to balance urgency and decisiveness with patience and compassion.
- A strong communicator and listener.
- Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software and e-mail applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word, Zoom; have the aptitude to learn other computer software as necessary.
- Qualified applicants must also possess the ability to work collaboratively and independently across the organization and with outside constituents in order to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
