Job Summary
An influential leadership role in agile structure, the Financial Management Product Owner sets the vision for the future of a segment within the financial management product/service area, aligned to the Group’s strategic direction. You maximise the value the product/service area delivers to customers and the business and inspire and empower the mission team to achieve ambitious but realistic objectives.
The Product Owner works with the Group Owner to develop Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and uses broad organisational and domain knowledge to describe the Epics that set the objective and direction for the work within a mission.
As a member of the Financial Management Product Owner talent pool you may be deployed as product owner for any product within the domain or use your deep domain expertise and breadth of experience to work within a mission team.
Job Description
As a Financial Management Product Owner, you’ll be leading the Telstra International Enterprise Finance Team. You will be accountable for providing financial and commercial partnering with senior stakeholders with impact on activities and initiatives to enable appropriate due diligence, risk assessment, tax and regulatory compliance, and commercial decision and modeling across our North American business. You’ll be engaging extensively with our Executive of International Finance, Enterprise Group.
This role serves to increase strategic influence with key stakeholders and drive efficiencies and profitable growth across the North American enterprise business.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Partnering with our America's business senior leadership team and the wider international team and operating as the key finance lead for that region
- Ensuring that Telstra Inc. is compliant in and throughout all regulatory and taxation, GAAP accounting requirements
- Act as a true business partner, regularly engage with the business to drive productivity, identification of financial opportunities which involve detailed modeling and scenarios to ensure the business makes informed decisions
- Providing analysis, key insights, and commentary to key stakeholders to assist with the delivery of financial and strategic outcomes
- Analysis of financial performance to stakeholders and ability to act as the main finance stakeholder in regular business reviews with customer account teams
- Managing the month-end process ensuring accurate P&L results for Telstra Inc
- Preparation and analysis of monthly financial reports, lodging any north American tax or compliance matters for the segment
- Customer and product performance, working closely with peers across the international finance group and representatives across sales and services to highlight any concerns or opportunities
- Manage compliance in relation to Telstra accounting policies and assist with ad hoc corporate requests
- Manage and govern overall financials for commissions including P&L accuracy, cash management, balance sheet impacts including amortization schedules and any other audit requirements
To be successful in the role you’ll have:
- Engaging, collaborating, influencing, and partnering with senior stakeholders
- Strong US GAAP accounting knowledge and experience with US compliance and regulatory environment
- Demonstrated experience in related finance and/or accounting roles
- CA or CPA Qualified Professional
- Be based in New York.

Salary Range
140,000 – 180,000 USD
